Sarracenia x 'Evendine' is one of Slack's most popular cultivars. In spite of its fame, there are several clones labelled 'Evendine' in cultivation, and probably the first original clone (captured and published on Slack's book) has been lost. Indeed, this topic is not an attempt to search around for the "original clone"; instead, it wants to be a place to discute about the nowadays' reliable clones of S. 'Evendine'. In fact, as a complication, there are probably as well many different clones from the same source.

I begin with this clone (for additional informations click on the link below):

Here a comparison with the specimen of S. 'Evendine' originally shown on Slack's Book:

Clearly, the grade of areolation/coloration is very variable and mainly depends on environmental conditions.

Whilst I note that this is not a search for the original clone, I have an 'Evendine' purchased from Marston Exotics many years ago which bears a very strong resemblance to the Slack book picture, I couldnt check the additional information as the link seems to be broken.
It is by the modern day 'Evendine' clone standards almost mundane, as it goes from green to red with very little areolation at all, even in full sun. I will take some pictures of it this year as it grows.
Cheers

Good afternoon all
As promised some pictures of my 'Evendine' from Marstons Exotics many yeras ago, from April to October this year. I couldnt get the pictures to post successfully (not great on computers I'm afraid, nor with photos as you can see) so here is a link to the host site.

As you can probably tell it is grown outdoors all year round in a bog in the UK.

The picture hosting site reduces the size of the pictures so some detail may get lost, I have got the originals I can post elsewhere if required.

Cheers
Steve
